VP Business Development

As VP of Business Development, you will have the opportunity to take Strategy Tools from an early start-up to a globally recognized, high-growth strategy tech company.  We are developing the methodologies, solutions, and software for the future of strategy. We currently have users in 110 countries, paying customers in 65+ countries, and a global partner network of 80+ partners. Yet, we have barely started. Over the next few years, we will build a powerful, global team and a massive global community to transform how the world works on strategy.

You will be in charge of building and running our global business development and revenue growth. You will be responsible for overall revenue for our five business areas. You will own the pipeline from the first prospect to successful delivery. You will develop our ten segments, identify prospects, develop projects and work with our teams to successfully implement the right strategy solutions.

You will be building relationships with key stakeholders, partners, users, and clients.
 You will work closely with channel partners in all key markets, to develop innovative business models for a win-win outcome, creating value for partners in the Americas, Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Europe. You will work with a global network of leading strategy thinkers, combining intellectual rigor with entrepreneurial drive to build out new ideas and create new digital solutions to shape how the world’s leading companies are working on strategy in the 2020’s and beyond.

The Role

✔ Lead the global business development for Strategy Tools
(working very closely with our digital team).

✔ Lead the growth of sales and marketing across our ten segments.

✔ Responsible for overall sales and revenue growth across our five business areas.

✔ Innovate around new revenue- and business models to create value and impact to our global user base.

✔ Help grow both existing and new strategic partnership models.

✔ Develop new prospects and leads, work with our CRM solution.

✔ Build and lead a global, distributed business development team.

✔ Explore and launch new growth opportunities for Strategy Tools.


✔ You are a high-performer. You have a global outlook, and will be equally comfortable doing business in Copenhagen, New York, and Shanghai.

✔ You have a minimum of five years of strategy experience (consulting or corporate), but you also know that the way most companies work on strategy will be disrupted by technology (that’s what we are building).

✔ You have a minimum of five years of successful business development and sales experience.

✔ You have proven experience building and leading larger, distributed business development teams.

✔ You are comfortable with the challenges and ambiguity of designing and developing new business models for a startup, knowing how to test and pivot as you learn.

✔ You are excellent at relationship building and have a proven track record of closing sales. In fact, you know sales and revenue are the lifeblood of any growing company and you thrive on it.
